About Blender

Blender is open source 3d modeling and animation software. In 20 years, Blender has evolved dramatically and since 2011, the phenomenon has accelerated with the implementation of Cycles, its new rendering engine.

The way Blender evolves is quite peculiar. Indeed, the Blender Foundation produces Open Movies, short films which aim to push the limits of the software. For example, with Big Buck Bunny in 2008, the idea is to improve the functioning of particle systems to improve the generation of herbs and furs. Sintel improves the general stability of the software, the tools of scults and the general illumination. In 2012, it was the integration of video that was at the heart of the Tears of Steel project, or how to integrate 3d into video captures and VFX tools … But the most beautiful project, currently in progress is undoubtedly Cosmos Laudromat, directed by a French artist Mathieu Auvray, where Blender is pushed to its limits: particles,

The performance and quality of the work of the Blender Foundation is appreciated by the giant Pixar which opens its render farm « Pixar Renderman » to Blender users for the calculation of non-profit work.

Today, many 3DS Max users turn to Blender for its flexibility of use and the quality of its renderings. In addition, a very large and active community enriches the software with free plugins and countless resources.
